Declan

Anglicized form of the Old Irish name Déaglán, associated with Saint Declan of Ardmore, a fifth-century bishop in Munster. It spent centuries largely confined to Ireland before arriving in American nursery rosters during the late-twentieth-century boom in Celtic imports. The first entry in the federal record did not appear until 1951.
