Judah

Derived from the Hebrew name Yehudah, meaning praised. It carries ancient biblical roots as the ancestor of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. In American birth registers, it sat nearly unrecorded for most of the twentieth century before finding sudden favor in the early twenty-first.

The name reads distinctly young and soft-spoken. It brings to mind canvas sneakers, wooden toys, and parents who own pour-over kettles. Despite centuries of history, seventy percent of all living Americans with the name are in elementary school or younger. The bearer is almost certainly under the age of fifteen.
